Antsy

I'm sitting at my desk looking at a picture of Ryan and I at the San Diego Zoo last year, thinking that I really wish it was summer and time to travel.

Because we are responsible adults and dedicated to paying our mortgage -- in full and on time -- we have to take an inexpensive vacation this year so that we have money left over for the next round of property taxes. So far so good. Anyway, we decided not to take the motorcycle this year, which will cut down on hotel costs. Instead, we'll spend 2 weeks road tripping in the new Escape around the western U.S.

The route will take us through Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah and back through California. Well, that's the route so far, anyway. I've always wanted to see the red rocks at Zion in Utah. We'll spend most of the time camping, and we're even going to bring the mountain bikes along for some actual exercise. I can't wait...it's going to be a rockin' vacation. I want to do a little whitewater rafting in there, but not sure how expensive it's going to be.

Next year my mom wants us to go to France because her house there will be finished. Maybe we'll even get to see my cousin Carole again. (That would be a nice change, because she's one of the few cousins/family members over there who speaks English and is around our age. My cousin Johan -- pronounced Joanne, crazy French -- is our age too, but he lives in Gabon, Africa, and we don't get to see him very often.) Hopefully we'll have enough extra funds to travel to France. I haven't been back since September 2002.

Well, I'm antsy sitting here at my desk. I'd much rather be out on the road, doing something fun. Instead, I'm wondering whether to take the car two blocks down for some Jamba Juice. Damn weather.
