Random Things About Me

Originally posted Jan. 27, 2006

Hey, consider it a survey without the questions. Random factoids about me.

-I don't like bananas. Especially artificially flavored banana candy (tastes too much like chemicals) and bananas in my smoothies (drinking bananas is gross). I can tolerate it on cereal...otherwise, that fruit is just nasty.

-I'm not comfortable leaving the house if the bed's not made. I've always been that way. I just don't like disorder in my life, and an unmade bed is like public enemy No. 1 when it comes to that. I don't like the thought of getting into an unmade bed either. Yecch.

-I like playing video games, shooting guns and fixing things. I know, I'm so not a girl in this respect. Video games rock, and I was a major NES-head in my younger years. I also like the feeling of accomplishment (and the mental/physical challenge) in fixing something. One of the things I enjoyed most about working at the theater (because there isn't really a long list of things to pick from) was troubleshooting the projectors. The day I identified and changed a blown diode all on my own was a crowning achievement. I guess I just like solving problems, because they make me think. And I like to think. Shooting guns...well, at the range, it's just fun. And it's a pretty good challenge too...you gotta get your aim down and learn how to respond to how the gun performs.

-Surprise surprise, I have a routine for everything. Perhaps it's the borderline OCD in me...ha. I check my e-mail and regular sites in the same order every day when I come in to work. When I arrive at the office, I grab a paper, log on to my computer while taking out the News and Local section of the paper, the crosswords page and the Wonderword, then I check my voicemail, e-mail, Web sites, start making the budget, etc. I have the same routine every day in the shower. I have the same routine for putting the dishes away and doing the laundry. Does this make me boring? No, I just like to think it makes me more efficient. :0) Hey, the less time I spend doing tasks, the more time I have to do other things, right?

-I used to drink those little coffee creamers when I was younger. What...I thought they were good! Especially the flavored ones.

Hmm, OK, it's getting late in the day and I need some time to think of more items. Perhaps I'll continue this on another day. Have a great weekend everyone!
