Trapped
Sigh. Sometimes I just really feel like screaming. This doesn't directly affect my job, but when you have to sit on the sidelines and watch your company basically experiment with cost-cutting measures....it's really, I don't know, embarrassing? Frustrating? Annoying?

I would say "Booo to outsourcing!" but it's helping my parents homeland so ... well, is it OK if I say "Boo to outsourcing for graphic design artists but it's great for call centers!"???
The way the company is going about it is downright sh*tty. There is no way these people are going to get the same package if they reapply. I don't understand how they are outsourcing the layouts and graphic design. Will it all be through computer? (Sorry, I thought papers still needed to proof design w hard copy. I am ignorant on the ways)
I understand outsourcing if it's for something like clothes manufacturing or call centers or whatnot...but producing ads for a newspaper? I mean, I won't lie that command of the English language is an issue that stands out, not to mention the time difference between countries that are working on a daily product that has deadlines. And yes, someone still needs to proof the copy, etc. I'm not sure exactly how it will be handled, but I sure hope this is all worth it.
